Social Media
With the majority of the UK’s population now actively engaging on some form of social media platform, it makes sense for the church to be active in this space too.
So why not today make sure that your church has set up its social media accounts? We would recommend starting with Facebook and Instagram as these are two of the most popular platforms.
Now you have set up your social accounts, the question becomes what do I post?
Share images of your church, not the building but the people. The majority of people will check you out online first before visiting your church. They will look at your website, where you should have the important information readily available but they will also take a look at your social media pages (Facebook, Instagram). Your social media pages offer you an incredible chance to share what is happening in the life of your church.
It is ok to sometimes post a flyer to your next event but what people really want to see is you and the people who make up your church family. When you share pictures of the real people in your community this helps people connect on a deeper level, they start to imagine themselves being a part of your community.
Social media offers you an opportunity to share real stories of how God is working within your community as a whole and on an individual level. Before ever visiting your church in person, people want to be able to imagine themselves there, they want to see what you look like and be encouraged that being a part of your community is something that will offer value to them
