Why is chaplaincy important for my ministry?

Having been brought up in a household where faith was very much not spoken about, but was something that underscored all that occurred. After having been through a whole series of life events that were like thunderbolts from the heavens, I am very aware of the need for those around us to offer support when it is needed. This can be done in a number of ways, through casual chats over a brew or a libation, or more formally through the sacraments or formal prayers.

I would hope that my presence and my chaplaincy within and outside of Rural Missions allow for these conversations to occur. My wife and those around me would describe me as a people person, somebody who, when walking down a street, would take over an hour because of chats and conversations which would take most people only a few minutes. I realise this is a gift God has given me, so I hope if and when you need a chat or a more detailed conversation, you know you can reach out and be supported by my chaplaincy, prayers, and God’s blessings through my ministry.

May God continue to bless each one of you this day, this hour, and this minute, and be assured you’re all very much in my and our prayers for your Christian journeys this Lententide.
