A new home for our resources.
Over the last few months, there has been a lot happening behind the scenes at Rural Missions. One of the biggest projects has been moving our website, resources, shop, events and communications across to our new home with Hubb.church.
It has involved much more than simply giving the website a fresh look. We have been bringing together resources that were previously spread across different websites, platforms and systems, making them easier to find, watch, download and share.
We know that rural churches are often working with limited time, small teams and tight budgets. The last thing anyone needs is to spend ages searching for a resource or trying to remember where they saw a helpful video. Our hope is that the new website will make it much simpler to find practical support for the mission God has called you to.
Watch and Download Our Top Tips
Our Top Tips videos bring together short, practical insights from experienced practitioners.
Each Top Tips video shares a short, practical idea to help rural churches think creatively about mission. They draw on the experience of different practitioners and are designed to offer encouragement, spark conversation and help churches consider ideas that could work within their own communities.
You can now explore these through our new website. The videos can be watched online, but many can also be downloaded so that you can use them in a church meeting, training session or small group. You can even share them with others through WhatsApp or use them in places where internet access is unreliable.
These are not intended to give you a complete programme or tell you exactly what to do. They are designed to spark ideas, begin conversations and help your church consider what the next faithful step might be.
Visit Farmer John’s Farm
One of our most exciting collections is Farmer John’s Farm.
Farmer John’s Farm uses ordinary experiences from farm life to explore biblical truths in a way that is memorable, accessible and engaging. The short videos can be used in a number of different settings, including:Primary school assemblies
-
All-age worship
-
Children’s groups
-
Bible study groups
-
Community activities
Each film is accompanied by downloadable session material, with resources including all-age service plans, primary assembly plans and Bible study guides.
The resources explore themes such as listening to God, using our gifts, contentment, rest, growth and the Good Shepherd. You can watch the videos online or download them, along with the supporting PDFs, ready to adapt for your own setting.
We would love to hear how you use them too. There is a feedback option on the Farmer John’s Farm page, so please tell us where you used a resource, what happened and how people responded.
More Than Digital Resources
The new Rural Missions Resource Hub is about more than videos.
It brings together four different kinds of support:
Digital resources
Free videos, podcasts and downloadable guides that can encourage and equip you in mission.
Physical resources
Books, booklets and printed materials offering practical help for churches, leaders and teams. This includes our popular Visiting Church booklets and a growing collection of other materials.
Rental resources
Through The Resources Cupboard, churches can borrow equipment and resources for events or try something new without having to purchase everything themselves.
Useful links
We have also gathered links to trusted organisations, networks and resources that may help you explore particular areas of ministry and mission more deeply.
Our hope is that this becomes somewhere you return to regularly, whether you need an idea for next Sunday, material for an upcoming assembly or help thinking through a new missional opportunity.
Looking for a New System for Your Church or Charity?
Our experience of moving to Hubb.church has shown us just how helpful it can be to bring so many different parts of an organisation together in one place.
If your church or charity is looking for a system to support your website, communications, events, resources, administration and community engagement, we would encourage you to take a look at Hubb.church.
There is a great deal the platform can do, and the Hubb team have helped us bring our different areas of work together into a much more connected online home.
If you decide to contact them to find out more, please mention that you heard about Hubb through Rural Missions!
Take a Look Around
Moving everything to Hubb.church gives us a much stronger foundation for the future. It means our website, resources, events, shop, communications and new app can increasingly work together in one place.
There is still more to add, and we will continue developing the Resource Hub over the coming months. New materials will appear as they become available, alongside opportunities to connect with others through Rural Missions networks, events and training.
For now, we would love you to take a look around.
Visit ruralmissions.org.uk/resources, watch something you have not seen before, download a resource for your church and share the page with someone else who might find it helpful.
Everything we create is shaped by a simple purpose: enabling rural churches in God’s mission.
We hope our new online home makes it even easier for you to find the encouragement, practical ideas and resources you need to take your next step.
